Donald Trump continued making the massacre in Orlando about himself Monday by renewing his call for a ban on Muslim immigration. He also vowed to meet with the NRA to discuss what they can keep not-doing, to allow 90 Americans to continue to die each day due to guns.

Trump claimed hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees are streaming into the country. But he must be thinking of guns, because if firearms were screened the way refugees are — for six months with multiple background checks — there’d be less than 3,000 of them in America.

Experts do agree that the president has wide powers when it comes to immigration. But they add that banning people based on religion is contrary to the Constitution and American tradition — though it probably would have helped Native Americans.
